Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is one of the few parks in the Virunga massif that offers golden monkey trekking tours. The 3-day tour is designed for visitors interested in experiencing nature and wildlife both at Mgahinga gorilla national park and Bwindi national park in southwestern Uganda. The highlights for the three day trek are gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking in Uganda.
Day 1: Travel by road from Kigali, Rwanda to Bwindi forest national park
Our representative will pick you up in Kigali and drive to Bwindi forest via the Kyanika Rwanda-Uganda boarder. The trip will take about 4-5hours. Overnight at Rishaga, the southern sector of Bwindi national park.
Day 2: Trek the gorillas at Bwindi national park
This will be the highlight of the 3-day gorilla trek. You will visit the gorillas at Bwindi very early in the morning. The trek will take any where from a few to many hours.
Day 3: Transfer from Bwindi to Mgahinga. Trek the Golden monkeys and transfer to Kigali afterwards
We will drive from Bwindi early morning and head to Mgahinga gorilla national par. This is about 2 hours drive. Embark on golden monkey trekking safari. This trip will take you to trek the golden monkeys, an endemic species of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in south western Uganda. The trip will take your through the jungles of Mgahinga National park which consists of bamboo and a variety of indigenous plants like giant lobelia. During the trip, your national park guide will tell you about the history of the national park and the fauna and flora that the park holds. The trek should take about 5 hours. Drive to Kigali immediately after the trek.
